Industrial Automatic Sliding Gate System
We designed and fabricated an 8-metre sliding gate for heavy vehicle access at a logistics warehouse in the port area of Constanta. The gate needed to withstand the strong winds typical of the coastal zone and heavy HGV traffic.
The gate structure is built from a main frame of 100x50x4mm rectangular hollow section with diagonal bracing from 60x40x3mm section, ensuring the necessary rigidity for such a large span. The infill is 2mm perforated plate with 10mm round holes, allowing wind to pass through and reducing wind loads by approximately 40%.
The lower guide system uses a UNP 80 running rail embedded in concrete, with 4 polyamide load-bearing rollers of 120mm diameter. The drive is provided by a CAME BXV-10 motor with 1000kg capacity, equipped with a frequency inverter for smooth starting and stopping. The system includes photoelectric sensors, a warning light, and access control via remote and push button.
